We are pleased to share exciting news: effective immediately, all reserve candidates are now eligible to participate in the Candidate Advancement Program (CAPS). This important program is designed to help candidates build a strong foundation for success by improving physical fitness, preparing for and achieving a passing score on the Physical Abilities Test, and developing the skills and discipline needed for the Police Academy experience. CAPS also introduces candidates to the quasi-military structure, expectations and self-discipline required of recruit officers, helping them arrive better prepared and more confident. Candidates can access additional information through the MY PD Dashboard or by visiting JoinLAPD.com. This marks another positive step in strengthening the path toward becoming a reserve officer and supporting future members of our Corps from day one.
