The 2024 Reserve Officer of the Year/Twice a Citizen gala on May 4 opened with a powerful and insightful video highlighting the bravery, courage and tenacity of Los Angeles reserve police officers. The intense body camera footage in the video illustrates the types of calls our officers respond to on a daily basis as well as the many risks associated with protecting and serving our communities. It shows, as LAPD Chief Dominic Choi says, “The courage that they display in their actions. Officers are out their daily, running toward the fight instead of away from the fight.
