The Reserve Unit was devastated by the loss of the great Michael Sellars. He was the co-president of the Los Angeles Police Reserve Foundation and a retired reserve officer, but beyond titles and accomplishments, Michael was our friend, our partner and one of the true champions of the Reserve Corps.
We are devastated to report that Los Angeles Police Reserve Foundation Co-President Michael Sellars passed away on July 16, 2025. Michael left behind a lasting legacy of dedication to the LAPD Reserve Corps through his 26-year career as reserve police officer and his longtime leadership in the LAPRF, including as editor-in-chief of The Rotator newsletter.
