Human Trafficking Task Force

LAPD reserve police officers working Vice Detail at LAPD 77th Street Community Police Station, Operations South Bureau, in December. A reserve officer said: “Last night, I worked our Human Trafficking Task Force, specifically the ‘juvenile rescue’ effort in South Central Los Angeles… My partner and I would swoop in, in our police car, bring the girl back to the station, where we had a team of people ready to help and rescue. They were not charged with a crime — rather, help was provided. We got them out of the environment, away from the evil lurking of the pimps and, working with DCFS and other agencies, tried to assist… Lots more to the work that I’m not sharing. A lot more impact that would take a book to explain…”
