As we close out 2019, we have had quite a year, with the increased focus on not only engaging our current reserve officers, but also enhancing communication while continuing our recruiting efforts to grow the Reserve Corps. In January, we graduated new reserve police officers and then went to work designing a plan to promote efficiency in our hiring program.
The Los Angeles Police Reserve Corps and the LAPRF are trying to increase the number of viable recruits by increasing public visibility with strong marketing and word of mouth.
As 2019 draws to a close, we continue to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Los Angeles Police Department. Much of this issue focuses on the history of the LAPD Reserve Corps, which became an official part of the Department in 1947.
