In 1981, San Francisco revived the Navy and Marine celebration known as Fleet Week. This weeklong event has spread to ports on both coasts, and three years ago to Los Angeles. It is an opportunity for service members to see the city and to give back by providing community service hours.

A lot of LAPD service years are represented here. Left, Dennis Zine — LAPD full-time, League Director, City Councilmember, reserve officer — 50 years. And Eric Rose: 30 years of service as a reserve officer.
